Automatic Car Washes, Your Car Deserves Better.

Well summer is here, not officially but it's close.  At this time of the year everyone once to drive a clean nice looking car, so the automatic car washes are really busy.  Don't get me wrong, automatic car washes are convenient and they do wash the surface dirt off your car.  The problem is that's all they do, and leave scratches.  I will explain the problems with brushless and regular automatic car washes.

The problem with brushless car  washes is they only remove the surface dirt off your vehicle.  Now your probably saying to yourself, "well I use the car washes with brushes".  Well theres a few problems with these car washes.  One is they too only romove the surface dirt off, and usually they don't get it all off.  Second, think about this, the car infront of you goes through and the brushes remove the dirt, now don't get me wrong some of that dirt does come off the brushes but not all of it.  Now you take your car through, and the dirt that is left on the brushes gets rubbed up against your car and leaves scratches.   The other thing is the spot free rinse.  Have you ever wondered what they use to get your car spot free?  Most people think it's just soft water, but in most cases it's actually acid added to the water to leave a spot free rinse.

Taking your vehicle to a brushless car wash isn't exactly bad, if you have had it detailed the right way first.  The bottom line is though, nothing compares to a good old hand wash using a shampoo or even a good waterless car wash. Just washing your vehicle though does not remove the contaminets that breaks your vehicles paint down making it dull, crack or fade over time.  In order to remove these contaminets you need to have your vehicle professionaly detailed.  Underneath this article you will find the steps used by professional detailers to remove these contaminets.  Not only does a professional detail remove these contaminets but it also removes small paint imperfections and surface scratches.

As far as interiors go their just as important.  And a professional detailer also takes steps which these full service car washes don't.  It's all about getting your vehicle in and out for these full service places.  The more they get through the more they make.  It's all about numbers for them.

Now I know alot of you probably think, well the car wash I go to offers professional detailing where they wax my car and clean the inside out after I've ran it through the car wash.  Here's the thing, thats not a professional detail, that's what you call a quick wax.  For one thing these places usually employ people who are still in high school, or on college break and they don't have the experience that a professional detailer has. You need to annalize the condition of a vehicles paint to know what techniques and products to use according to the condition of the paint. They also only use wax on your vehicle, and yes it does protect it but it does not remove surface scratches, small imperfections and the contaminets that ruin your paint.  In order to do this you need to have your car clayed and then compounded using a rotary buffer, not an orbital buffer which is what they use.  In order to use a rotary buffer you need to have experience or you can ruin a car's finnish.  The other problem is they rush your vehicle through.  A professioanl detail done right takes a few hours to complete.

With Crumlich's Car Care, or any other professional detailer, your getting all the things these full service car washes don't provide. And with Crumlich's Car Care your still getting the convenience because we come to you and perform our services at your location.  Not only does CCC's owner have years of experience in professional auto dertailing, but he also has 10 years experienc in automotive painting, which is very helpful in the detailing business.  Now after you have had your vehicle professionaly detailed by Crumlich's Car Care, or any other professional detailer,  if you still decide to us an automatice car wash to clean your vehicle to keep up with it, please use a brushless one.

Procedures A Professional Detailer Uses

Washing -  washing your vehicle with either a shampoo or wateless waterless car wash, removing all surface dirt on paint, door jambs and wheel wells.

Chamoing - using a microfiber drying towell to dry your vehicle off leaving it spotless

Claying - this process involves spraying your vehicle down with a quick detailer, I perfer Meguiar's, and taking a clay bar over it to remove any contaminets which have bonded themselves to your paint.

Compounding - this process involves using a compound with rotary buffer to remove any surface scratches and or small imperfections in your paint, and bringing the shine back.

Waxing - this process can be done by hand or by and orbital buffer to protect your vehicles paint. Or a sealant can be used.  A sealant doesn't give your vehicle as deep of a shine but it's protects alot better than a wax and usually last longer.
